Mike's City Diner South End Boston

MIKE'S CITY DINER
1714 Washington St,   Boston (South End)

This restaurant was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and on the Phantom Gourmet.  There is a video on Diners that shows how they make their famous turkey.  They cook them everyday for their homemade turkey dinners with all the fixin's($9.95) and also for their Pilgrim sandwich ($7.95 with fries and a pickle).  Everything is made fresh everyday!   Yum!  This restaurant is busy everyday so expect lineups and by the way they only accept cash!  Also on the menu is all day breakfast  and super big pancakes!   Prices are good too.

Marconi Beach BBQ and Seafood

MARCONI BEACH BBQ AND SEAFOOD
545 Rte 6,   Wellfleet Ma

This restaurant is located right on the highway in Wellfleet on the way up to Provincetown.  We have actually been to this restaurant and did not know what the name was.  It is easily noticed because of the HUGE smoking BBQ's out front of the restaurant.  This place was on Diner's Drive-ins and Dives.  Ironically the restaurant is most famous for its fried chicken.  People come and pick up buckets of their chicken and take home or to the beach for an easy picnic lunch.  We will have to sample a bucket of this on our way to P-Town.  And yes they have a big menu which includes fried clams, scallops etc.   marconibeachrestaurant.com

Cafe Rossetti's

CAFE ROSSETTI'S
115 Winthop Shore Drive,   Winthrop MA
617-539-9990

This is another restaurant featured on the Phantom Gourmet.   It is a cozy Italian restaurant that overlooks the ocean.  The tables are VERY close together and has an open kitchen.  This place is affordable and has large portions.  FYI:  this restaurant is BYOB, so if you want to drink wine or 6 pack of beer with dinner you bring your own and pay a corking fee.  Famous for:  Steak Mafiosa (which comes with a salad and a side of pasta for $25.  Also noted for a lightly battered chicken breast in a lemon butter sauce and a "gigantic" pork chop with broccoli and pancetta.  caferossettis.com

Tony's Clam Shop - Quincy

TONY'S CLAM SHOP
861 Quincy Shore Drive, Quincy
617-773-5090

This restaurant is a local favorite and is near the ocean.  Imagine this, but this place is famous for its fried clams!  Other notables on the menu are HUGE lobster rolls (1/2 pound of lobster) for $17.00 and chicken kabobs.  The portions are large so 1 order could easily be shared by two people.   From what I saw on the video the chicken kabobs will be great for Becca and me while Lauren and Gregg stuff their faces once more with clams.  They will have to judge which clams are better ..... so far from previous trips it is Arnolds.  tonysclamshop.com

Cabby Shack - Plymouth MA

CABBY SHACK
30 Town Wharf Rd, Plymouth MA

This restaurant is located on the ocean.  It is famous for its Clam Chowdah that is so thick that your spoon will stick straight up in it.  It is made fresh every day.  Since I do not eat any type of seafood, I will have to left Lauren and Gregg be the judge.  From the video on the Food Channel, the pizzas are also supposed to be very good - Becca and I will have to share one.  cabbyshack.com
